Veteran Funeral Services

Newman Funeral Homes, P.A. honors the sacrifices our veterans and their families have made to protect our freedoms. We work with local veterans’ groups and the funeral honor guard detail of all military branches to ensuring proper military services. We can arrange for burial or inurnment services in Arlington National Cemetery, Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Grafton National Cemetery or in a private cemetery of your choosing.    

Military Funeral Honors for an eligible veteran are free of charge, as mandated by law. An honor guard detail for the burial of an eligible veteran consists of not less than two members of the Armed Forces. One member of the detail represents the branch of the service in which the deceased veteran served. The honor detail will, at a minimum, perform a ceremony that includes the folding and presenting of the American flag to the next of kin and the playing of taps. The veteran's parent service representative will present the flag.
