Death Away From Home

Death Away From Home

It can be a difficult time when a loved one dies, but when the death occurs away from home, it can be even more complicated and stressful. In today’s society, it is not unusual for people to spend a significant amount of time away from home vacationing, attending events, or visiting relatives – all of which contributes to the possibility of a death away from home.

If a death occurs, the most important thing to do is call your hometown funeral director.  Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., will arrange for the safe transport of your loved one back home and will help the family avoid any unnecessary costs by coordinating with local authorities and engaging the necessary services of a local funeral home where the death occurred. If your loved one has passed in Maryland and you would like to have them taken to another state or country for services, we can arrange for the transfer to that location.

If the distance is not too far, the deceased may be transported by land. However, if the distance is farther away, the deceased may be transported by air. Newman Funeral Homes, P.A. is trained to know the rules and regulations that comply with pertinent laws, and will save you money wherever possible.

No matter where a death occurs, Newman Funeral Homes, P.A. is here to assist you and your family, whether it means a funeral at the place of death or back home, or both.
