Violet Arzola (Bray) Foster, 86, of Oakland, MD, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019, at her home.
Born February 27, 1933, in Swanton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Rebecca Sliger. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ruby Loraine Slaubaugh; son-in-law, Victor Harry Slaubaugh; great grandson, Parker Riley Rowan; three brothers and three sisters.
Violet was a homemaker. She was a pastor’s wife for over 40 years and a member of the Freeport King James Bible Church. Violet was very active in church ministries and also enjoyed gardening and canning.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Austin Foster; one son, Vincent Foster and wife, Jeanie, Placerville, CA; one daughter, Lisa Gaynor and husband, John, Cave Creek, AZ; two sisters, Judy Shaffer, Eglon, WV; Jenny Holtschneider, Oakland; thirteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Dr., Oakland, MD, 21550, on Thursday, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Friday, July 26, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Marty Wilt of Underwood Church officiating. Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.
