Theodore Ezra Sisler

December 24, 1937 ~ March 12, 2020 (age 82)


Theodore Ezra “Ted” Sisler, 82, of Aurora, WV, left his earthly home on Thursday, March 12, 2020.

Born December 24, 1937, in Erwin, WV, he was the son of the late Harry and Gertrude (Moats) Sisler. He was also preceded in death by his son, Paul Edward Sisler and his wife, Reda Jane Sisler; five siblings, Clifford, Lester, Paul, Alverta, and Loretta.

Ted worked at North Branch Coal Company for 31 years. He also worked construction as a crane operator and for Bethlehem Steel in Baltimore, MD. Ted enjoyed mowing his grass, going on four wheeler rides, telling fishing stories, hunting, and making the world’s best buckwheat cakes (according to his grandkids).

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Delores Yvonne “Dot” Martin-Sisler, and one daughter. Together they loved to fish, travel, camp, and enjoy time with their grandchildren. Ted and Dot created a life they loved and brought two children into the world. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Jenna Nicole and partner, Daniel, Oakland, MD; Jessica “Jessie” Denise, NC; James Sisler and partner, Chastity, Aurora; Camren Shaffer, Kansas City, MO; Grace Hannah and Jonathon Dalton, Eglon; one brother, Delmar Sisler; six great grandchildren.

At Ted’s request, he will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
