It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia Wilt (58), announces her passing after a long battle with illness, on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.
Born March 25, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Rosemary (Spangler) Smith. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Rosemary “Sue” Beal and Jesse “Mick” Smith.
A loving mother and homemaker, Patricia was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, most especially over the holidays. She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren and they were the love of her life. She especially loved her dog, Bear. She grew up in Meyersdale but moved to Bear Hill at 15 years old. She worked at several local stores in the area, most recently being Hilltop Fruit Market for over 10 years. Although she had to leave that job due to illness 12 years ago, people still ask her daughter about her. She was known as the lady with the tattoos.
She is survived by her husband, Barry Wilt, Sr.; two children, Angel (Scott) Beitzel and Barry (Courtney) Wilt, Jr.; four grandchildren, Kylea Rose Beitzel, Scott Allen Beitzel, Rella Joy Wilt and Samuel Lee Spiker and her beloved dog, Bear.
At her request, she will be cremated and due to the limited number of people allowed to gather following the executive order by the State of Maryland, services will be private.
Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, MD, is in charge of arrangements.
