Obituary

Everett Allen Fratz, 84, of Accident, MD, died Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.

Born February 25, 1936, in Accident, he was the son of the late Walter H. and Anna Viola (Bittinger) Fratz. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, June Wilt, Wilma Edwards, Hazel Wright and Martha Leese; four brothers, Donald, Robert, Wayne and Gary Fratz; and one grandson, Bryan Day.

Mr. Fratz was owner and operator of Accident Garage and was also petroleum manager for W.H. Fratz, Inc. Allen was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1955 to 1957 as a Quartermaster SP4 and a member of the Zion Lutheran Church where he served in different offices over his lifetime. He was also a member of the Accident Post 208, American Legion and the Accident Vol. Fire Dept.

He is survived by one son, Dwayne Fratz, Accident and one daughter, Brenda (William) Day, West Deptford, NJ; four grandchildren, Elizabeth (James) Fenner, Collin, Skyler and Leah Fratz; three great-grandchildren, Silas, Corey and Ezra Fenner.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, MD, on Friday from 3-7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Zion Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. James Oester officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Zion Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be accorded by area Veteran’s service organizations.
