Esther Viola Beachy

November 16, 1928 ~ April 3, 2020 (age 91)


Esther Viola Beachy, 91, of Oakland, MD died Friday, April 3, 2020, at her home.

Born November 16, 1928, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Eli and Minnie (Beachy) Beachy. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Edwin Beachy; one sister, Fannie Beachy; one great nephew, Melvin Andrew Beachy; one step-great nephew, Tommy Glotfelty. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In her youth, she was baptised upon her confession of faith in Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of the Gortner Amish church. Esther was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, gardening, and loved flowers. She was bedfast for the last three years and was cared for by her three great-nieces. She was very easy to care for.

She is survived by one nephew, Alvin Beachy and wife, Rachel, Oakland; one niece, Esther Glotfelty, Oakland; ten great nieces and nephews; one step-great niece; sixteen great-great nieces and nephews,

Due to the limited number of people allowed to gather following the executive order by the state of Maryland, her services will be private. Interment will be in the Gortner Amish Cemetery.
