Arlene F. (Beal) Green

August 12, 1935 ~ September 30, 2020 (age 85)

Obituary

Arlene F. Green, 85, of Boynton, Salisbury, Springs and, most recently, Grantsville, died at her home on Wednesday, September 30, 2020.

Born August 12, 1935, she was the youngest child of the late Robert and Marie (Fleigle) Beal. She was also preceded in death by her sister Norma Ross and her brothers, Robert and Jack Beal.

Surviving are her four sons, Don (Beth), Bob (Nancy), Tom (Brenda), and Bill (Missy); and one sister, Donna Lishia. She was an extra special Nana to Matt Green (Brandy), Jaci Green, Mary Beth Twigg (Brett), Chelsea Miller (Charlie), Stephanie Daugherty (Brad), and Jared Green (Alyssa); and seven great-grandchildren, Dakota, Mckenzie, Ellie, Nora, Anna, Emma and Bailee.

Throughout her lifetime, Arlene held various jobs which included personal care giver, restaurant hostess, tax collector, and administrative assistant. Arlene enjoyed nature, gardening and reading, she excelled in cooking for her family and friends, and she loved and nurtured her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her travels took her to Alaska, Great Britain, and the Bahamas; she liked to attend plays, shows and concerts. Her beautiful soprano voice enriched church services and several choruses. Recently, she rediscovered her artistic talents by creating lovely paintings. During a stint in rehab, she was a regular “Pollyanna,” brightening the lives of her fellow residents. Arlene attended Springs Mennonite Church where she faithfully served in numerous roles.

The family deeply appreciates the care and devotion provided to Arlene by her many friends, including her Ladies Bible Study group and her Starner Hill neighbors.

Out of respect for our current situation, services will be private with Pastor John Verburg officiating.
