William Calvin Lytle

May 23, 1956 ~ June 6, 2019 (age 63)

William Calvin Lytle, 63, of Meyersdale, PA, died Thursday, June 6, 2019, at WMHS Regional Medical Center, Cumberland, MD.

Born May 23, 1956, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Calvin and Jean (Dively) Lytle. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Theodore R. Lytle and his father-in-law, Alvin Hochard.

Mr. Lytle was a retired correctional officer at SCI, Somerset, PA and a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Paul Wilhelm Church, Earl H. Opel Post 459, American Legion, DAV, Chapter 127, Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 172, Cumberland, Frosty Sons of Thunder, and PA National Guard, 103rd Armor, Friedens. He was a lifetime member of Salisbury Vol. Fire Dept. and a former member of Confluence Fire Dept. Station 612 and Friedens Fire Dept. Station 603.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Jean (Hochard) Lytle; one son, Casey Lytle and girlfriend, Stacey; one brother, Donald Lytle and wife, Tammy; two sisters, Mary Jean “MJ” Krajacic and husband, Darwin and Lois Metheney; his mother-in-law, Eleanor Hochard; two sisters-in-law, Donna Lytle and Kathy Ringler and friend, Bill; and his beloved nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Hwy., Salisbury, PA, on Monday from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the St. Paul Wilhelm Church, Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tom Holliday officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Cremation will follow services.
