Rose Marie (Davis) Frazee, 84, of Friendsville, MD, died peacefully in her sleep Friday, June 7, 2019, at ACTS Copper Ridge, Sykesville MD.
Born May 6,1935, in Sinclair Ridge WV, she was the daughter of the late Clarence E. and Jessie (Loughry) Davis.
Rose attended Fairmont State College and was a teacher at Lynn Dale School in Hazleton WV. She met her late husband, James Frazee, while teaching at Lynn Dale and they were married for 60 years. She later served as a substitute teacher for the Garrett County MD School System for several years. She also served as a chef’s aide at Garrett College.
She was a member of Blooming Rose United Methodist Church and was a member of the Blooming Rose United Methodist Women’s Group, Church Treasurer, and member of the Pastor Parish Relations Committee.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, James Frazee, a son, Steven Frazee, and a daughter in law, Lisa Bartley Frazee.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Frazee and wife, Linda, Westminster, MD, Gregory Frazee, Richmond, VA and a sister, Gwendolyn Davis Uglow, Rowlesburg WV.
She was “Pop-Mom” to 3 grandchildren, Erin Frazee Masini (Jose) Ryan Frazee (Beth Lipman), Caitlin Frazee Bowers (Josh) and great grandson, Miles Bowers.
She was an avid fan of the West Virginia University Mountaineers and remained neutral with all other sports teams in order to “keep peace in the family.”
She especially loved polka music “because it was happy music”, Ethel Myers’ butterscotch pie, Reuben sandwiches, lemon meringue pie and chocolate cake. She was skilled at quilting, having made several quilts with others and by herself, enjoyed traveling, and was an aficionado of making and eating buckwheat cakes.
Friends may call at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 943 Second Avenue, Friendsville, on Sunday, June 9, 2019, from 5-8pm. Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, June 10, 2019, at 11:00 am with the Rev. Dr. Marty Kuchma, St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Westminster MD, officiating. Interment will be in the Blooming Rose Cemetery.
