Phyllis Joye (Friend) Finzel

March 3, 1944 ~ July 19, 2019 (age 75)

Phyllis Joye Finzel, 75, of Grantsville, MD, died Friday, July 19, 2019, at her residence.

Born March 3, 1944, in Friendsville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Curtis & Mabel (Sisler) Friend.  Phyllis was also preceded in death by her husband, Gary William Finzel.

She was retired owner/operator of The Flowerloft and G & P Auto.  Phyllis was past president of Greater Grantsville Business Association, member of Northern Garrett County Rescue Squad and a volunteer for Hospice of Garrett County.  She enjoyed her loving family, painting, camping, photography and the outdoors.

Surviving are one son, Howard (Beth) Finzel, Grantsville; one daughter, Tracy (Steve) Fratz, Accident, MD; two brothers, Bernard (Charlotte) Friend, Friendsville, Tom (Eileen) Friend, Lewisburg, PA; one sister, Judy (Mose) Wilson, Terra Alta, WV; five grandchildren, Kasie, Ryan (fiancee, Abbey), Adam, Kaitlynn & Aaliyah.

At her request, she will be cremated and no services are planned.

Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller Street, Grantsville, is in charge of cremation arrangements.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of Garrett County, Mountain Laurel Medical Center & Dr. Walsh for their care during Phyllis' illness.
