Naomi Lorraine Griffith, 88, of Friendsville, MD, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019, at her home.
Born July 19, 1931, in Friendsville, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Franklin and Hazel Irene (Firmstone) Artice. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Ray Artice; four sisters, Faye Humberston, Julia Wilbon, Betty Uphold, and Catherine Savage.
Naomi was a homemaker and worked as a custodian at First United Bank for fifteen years. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, the Friendsville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, and the Friendsville Town Election Board. Naomi loved life, laughter and enjoying time with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Harry Hobert Griffith; three daughters, Debbie A. Shrum and husband, Robert, Markleysburg, PA; Sherry L. Groves and husband, Bradley, Bruceton Mills, WV; Tracey L. Dietz and husband, John David Dietz, Bruceton Mills; one brother, Ronald Artice, Springs, PA; seven grandchildren, Jay and Jody Ross; Nicole Skidmore; Michele and Tyler Groves; Kent and Kody Rodeheaver; numerous great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 943 Second Ave., Friendsville, MD, 21531, on Monday from 4 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be conducted at Grace Lutheran Church, 2nd Ave. and Maple St., Friendsville, MD, 21531 on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Peter Suwak officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Asher Glade Cemetery, Friendsville.
