Myrtle Mae Bodes, 102, of Salisbury, PA, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2019, at Johnson’s Personal Care Home, Meyersdale, PA.
Born February 6, 1917, in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late, Walter and Anne (Murray) Johns. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Emmett Bodes; an infant son, Bradley Bodes; two brothers, Frank and Robert Johns; a sister, Dorothy Harnig and a grandson, Jody Bodes.
Myrtle was employed as a seamstress for Salisbury Undergarment Factory and was a member of the Meyersdale Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Bodes and wife, Patricia, Frostburg, MD and Sandy Bodes and wife, Kathy E., Springs, PA; three grandchildren, Gary Bodes, Barbara Knotts and Jeffrey Bodes; five great-grandchildren, Brandon Bodes, Heather Dufore, Jarod Bodes, David Knotts and Jessie Knotts; four great-great-grandchildren, Brandon Bodes, Jackson Knotts, John Thomas Dufore and Teddy Dufore.
Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Hwy, Salisbury on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tom Holliday officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul Wilhelm Cemetery, Meyersdale.
