Mary Elizabeth (Stine) Stover

September 6, 1928 ~ August 1, 2018 (age 89)

Mary Elizabeth (Stine) Stover, 89, of Oakland, MD, died on August 1st, 2018 at Cherry Hill Assisted Living, Accident, MD.

She was born in Keyser, WV on September 6, 1928, the daughter of the late Charles Richard Stine, Sr. and Clara Iva (Rolls) Stine. She was also preceded in death by her husband W. Dwight Stover of Oakland; two sisters, Charlene Dorcus (Stine) Johnston; Joanne (Stine) Rinker; son-in- law, Dr. Christopher James Kaufman of Gorham, ME.

She was a graduate of Oakland High School and was a member of the Faith Evangelical Free Church where she served as a deaconess and Sunday school teacher.   Mary Elizabeth was a loving mother who enjoyed sewing, gardening and appreciated art. She traveled extensively and especially enjoyed trips to Ireland, Russia, and Scandinavia.

 Mary Elizabeth is survived and will be forever missed by her three children, William D. Stover, Jr., Oakland; Elizabeth Bogaty and husband, Bill, Pittsburgh, PA;  Sara Kaufman, Gorham, ME; grandchildren Christopher William Stover and wife, Lisa (Bernard), and their daughter, Riley Addison, Fairmont, WV; Elizabeth-Kui Kaufman and Sophia Diane-Tao Kaufman, Gorham ME;  sister Frances Lee (Stine) Davis and husband, Edward, Baltimore, MD., brothers Charles R. Stine, LaVale, MD;  Gary Kenneth Stine, Elephant Butte, NM;  sister-in-law Janice Cummings and husband, Ralph, Swanton, MD; and many devoted nieces and nephews that she held dear to her heart.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Cherry Hill Assisted Living, Hospice of Garrett County and her many kind and helpful friends and neighbors. Mary’s services will be private.
