Lonnie Lee Rodeheaver

December 26, 1938 ~ September 28, 2019 (age 80)

Lonnie Lee Rodeheaver, 80, of Oakland, MD died Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Oakland.

Born on Dec. 26, 1938 in Sang Run, MD, he was the son of the late Leslie F. and Grace (McRobie) Rodeheaver.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Louise Ettawanda (Green) Rodeheaver. He was the youngest of ten children, having three brothers, Bryson, Bill and Huey, and 6 sisters Margaret, Martha, Betty, Lorraine, Catherine and Ruby.

After graduating from Southern High School in 1957 he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where he was deployed to Lebanon in 1958. He finished his 3-year enlistment at Norfolk VA. as a military police officer. He soon reenlisted into the U.S. Navy and became a Cryptologic Technician with the National Security Agency serving in Vietnam and throughout the U.S. and Far East. He retired from the service and returned to Garrett County and became employed at HMH Corporation at WISP ski area and worked there for fifteen years until finally retiring for good. After the love of his life Louise died in 1998, he traveled, became quite the photographer, entrepreneur, and dog trainer. He loved his Newfoundland Teddy who he would take in schools, nursing homes and local businesses. Lonnie had quite a sweet tooth and would share whatever he had. Quite the joker, if you were a friend you might find your shoes in the fridge. Family and friends alike will miss these characteristics and many more.

Surviving are his two sons, Dwayne and partner Hardwick, Baltimore; Mark and spouse Sandy, Deer Park. Three grandchildren Benjamin, Thaddeus and Eunae.
