John Howard Vogt, Jr., 76, of Grantsville, MD, died Wednesday, January 1, 2020, at WMHS Regional Medical Center, Cumberland, MD.
Born January 26, 1943, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late John Howard and Catherine Virginia (Kinnershey) Vogt, Sr.
Mr. Vogt was a cable splicer for a telephone company. He was also a supervisor for the Town of Grantsville from 2000-2002 and a driver for Garrett Transit for several years. John was a U.S. Navy veteran service during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Regina (VonGlassner) Vogt; two sons, Scott Vogt, Abingdon, MD; Steven Vogt, Aberdeen, MD; one brother, William Vogt, Jarrettsville, MD; three grandchildren, Kara Spangenberger, Katherine Vogt and Nicholas Vogt; two great-grandchildren, Rowan Spangenberger and Savannah Vogt.
At his request he will be cremated and no services are planned.
