Jo Ann (Fisher) Robinson

November 29, 1932 ~ July 7, 2019 (age 86)

Jo Ann Robinson, 86, of Friendsville, MD, died Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, MD.

Born November 29, 1932, in Friendsville, she was the daughter of the late Paul Wayne and Josephine Muriel “Jo” (Frantz) Fisher.

Mrs. Robinson was a physical education teacher for 30 years for the Garrett Co. Board of Education and was a cheerleader advisor for 25 years. She was known as Mrs. R. and was a mentor, teacher and “mom” to many of her students. She was a charter member of the Garrett Co. Federation of Teachers, a member of Woodmen of the World and a member of the Garrett Co. Fair board.

She was known for her beautiful smile and caring ways. She enjoyed fashion, sporty cars, sports, beach vacations, family and going out with her husband. She was Superintendent and class teacher for the Selbysport United Methodist Church and a member of Anchor Church.

She is survived by her husband, Leroy Junior Robinson; two sons, Randy Paul Robinson and wife, Linda Sue and Michael Roy Robinson and wife, Sandy; one daughter, Terry Jo Stough and husband, Scott, all of Friendsville; one sister, Linda Edwards and husband, George, Grantsville; six grandchildren, Mindy Jo Robinson and fiancé, Francis Meyers, D.C.; Ashley Ann Robinson, Morgantown, WV; Dustin Paul Stough, Fayetteville, WV; Cara Jo Stough, Steinfurt, Germany; Tabitha Ann Robinson and husband, Zach Trautwien and Anna Marie Robinson, all of Friendsville; one great-grandson, Daniel Peter Stough, Steinfurt, Germany.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 943 Second Ave., Friendsville, on Monday, July 8, 2019, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Anchor Church on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Michael Robinson and Pastor Keith Collins officiating. Interment will be in the Addison Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Goodwill Mennonite Home and Staff for the excellent care given to Jo Ann.
