Jeannette Florence “Jim” Keefe, 94, of Oakland, MD, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born October 23, 1924, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Edward Connell and Leona Pearl (Winters) Skipper. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thomas Keefe; one son, Gary Michael Keefe; three brothers, Lawrence, Paul, and Donald Skipper.
Jeannette was a homemaker. She loved being outdoors, gardening, flowers, watching birds and animals, and playing music in the family band. Jeannette was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Oakland.
She is survived by two sons, Roger Thomas Keefe and wife, Barbara, Calgary, Alberta, Canada; Randall Leo Keefe and wife, Scheryl, Clarksville, TN; daughter, Patricia Louise Royster and husband, Timothy, Gum Spring, VA; two grandchildren, Donna Jean and Brian Allen Keefe; sister-in-law, Thelma Skipper, Oakland.
Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Dr., Oakland, MD, 21550, on Sunday, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., and Monday, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 208 South 4th Street, Oakland, MD, on Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at 12:00 p.m. with Father Doug Kenney officiating. Interment will be at Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
