Edith Mae Yommer, 90, of Addison, PA, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Henry Clay Villa, Marklesyburg, PA.
Born August 11, 1928, in Grantsville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Reba (Smith) Bowser. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Henry “Ben” Yommer; three brothers, Merle, Ernest, and Charles Bowser; two sisters, Twila George and Freda Reichenbecher.
Edith, fondly called Grammy by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Addison United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Dale A. Yommer, Confluence, PA; James L. Yommer and wife, Brenda, Friedens, PA; three daughters, Sharon K. Mason and husband, Rick, Confluence; Carol A. Collins and husband, Sam, Addison; Kathleen S. Nogroski and fiancé, Daniel Brant, Somerset; two sisters, Donna Walker, Orlando, FL; Gloria Reckner, Salisbury, PA; eight grandchildren, Dale “Butch” Yommer, Jr., Renee Yommer, Derek Mason, Brad Mason, Joshua Collins, Clair Collins-Nau, Evan Nogroski and Benjamin Nogroski; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Sam McClintock officiating. Interment will be in the Addison Cemetery.
