Dale Eugene Rodeheaver, Sr.

July 28, 1933 ~ January 5, 2019 (age 85)

Dale Eugene Rodeheaver, Sr., 85, of Accident, MD, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019, at his home.

Born July 28, 1933, in Sang Run, MD, he was the son of the late Hobert L. and M. Catherine (Frazee) Rodeheaver.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Wilma Jo (DeWitt) Rodeheaver; two sons, Dale Eugene Rodeheaver, Jr., Tampa, FL; Philip L. (Sherry) Rodeheaver, Oakland; a daughter, A. Elaine Cononie and special friend, Greg Currey, Germantown, MD; a sister, Shirley Korom, Medina, OH; and six grandchildren, Ashley Sayre, Scott Rodeheaver, Charlie (Linleigh) Cononie, Matthew Cononie, Austin and Paige Rodeheaver.

After several years of service in the U.S. Air Force, Dale enjoyed a 32 year career serving his community as a local banker. Dale was a member of Accident Post 208, American Legion, a charter member of the Deep Creek Lake Lions Club, a member of the Accident Volunteer Fire Dept. and a member of Oak Grove Church of the Brethren.

Dale and Wilma enjoyed their retirement years traveling and spending time with family.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 26722 Garrett Highway, Accident (McHenry), MD, on Monday 4-7 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at Oak Grove Church of the Brethren on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at 11:00 am with Pastor Scott Rush officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services.  Military graveside rites will be accorded by area veteran's service organizations.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Hospice of Garrett County or the Accident Volunteer Fire Department.
