Obituary

Anna Jean Heston, 88, of Hancock, MD, died Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at Doey’s House, Hagerstown, MD.

Born December 19, 1930, in Bakersville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Delphia (Platter) Miner. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Page Cornelius Heston, August 21, 2009, and whom she married on February 6, 1966; one brother, Elmer Miner and one sister, Melda Bittinger.

Mrs. Heston was a nursing assistant for six years at the Marylander Nursing Home, she worked at Merriott/ComSat and also worked caring for people in their homes. She was a member of the Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, Monrovia, MD and attended Grace Christian Fellowship, Hancock. She enjoyed rug making, quilting and crocheting.

She is survived by one step-daughter, Rosemary Hess, Brook Park, OH; two brothers, Reed (Rosella) Miner and John Miner, all of Grantsville; close friends, Steve and Pat Sexton, Hancock; six step-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A. 179 Miller St., Grantsville, MD, on Friday, June 7, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Edward Guyer officiating. Interment will be in the Pisgah Cemetery, Morgantown, WV.
